Sri Lanka and India concluded the 12th round of Economic and Technology Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) negotiations, the President's Media Division said.
The PMD said a delegation of 19 Indian officials, led by Shri Anant Swarup, chief negotiator, visited Sri Lanka for extensive discussions on the ETCA.
The negotiations on ETCA were renewed following President Wickremesinghe’s visit to India recently.
The two countries have held 11 rounds of bilateral talks from 2016 to 2019 with the aim of broadening and deepening the existing India-Sri Lanka Free Trade (ISFTA).
According to the PMD, this comprehensive agreement has a broader scope than the current ISLFTA, underscoring the deepening economic ties between the two nations.(Sheain Fernandopulle)
