Three youth arrested over setting Ranil’s private residence ablaze
Three suspects have been arrested bt the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over the incident of setting fire to President Ranil Wickremesinghe's private residence in Colombo on July 9.
Police said the suspects aged 18 and 22, residents of Madapatha and Colombo 5, were arrested yesterday in Piliyandala and Narahenpita areas.
Earlier, the police arrested four suspects over the incident and were remanded till August 10 by Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court.
President Wickremesinghe's private residence on 5th Lane in Colombo came under arson attack by the protestors following a tense situation erupted between the protestors and security forces on July 9. (DSB)
