Three days after burial, the deceased returns

Gampola, Nov 28, (Daily Mirror) - The Gampola Police commenced an investigation into an incident where the deceased person had appeared in front of the Gampola Hospital Coroner Nalin Medawaka, along with his mother and relatives, three days after the body was buried.

Accordingly, two months ago, a person died of a heart attack at the Gampola bus stand. The body had been kept in the Gampola Hospital mortuary for two months as it could not be identified.

Later, a woman and a group of people from Merivila Watta in Gampola came and claimed the body saying it was her of 59-year-old son Lazar Michael. Subsequent to the post-mortem, the family had performed religious rites and buried the body.

However three days after the funeral, it is reported that the person who was considered dead had returned home.

Later the dead man and his family had showed up at the coroner’s office to inform him about the incident.
