Sufficient stocks available to generate power uninterrupted

The Lakvijaya Coal Power Plant is in possession of a consignment of 380,000 tonnes of coal to generate power uninterrupted, an official said.

Nalaka Wijekoon, Manager of the power complex said 23 shipments had arrived, and were being unloaded.

He said the consignments of coal unloaded from ships anchored in the sea off Ilanthidiya are ferried with barges to the Lakvijaya power complex. (Hiran Priyankara)
