Stones pelted at Colombo-bound night mail train

Jaffna, Dec.1 (Daily Mirror)- An unidentified group of individuals had pelted stones at the Colombo bound night mail from Jaffna on Thursday (30) night, when the train was passing the Kondavil area.

Following complaints from passengers, the Railway Security Service officials carried out an immediate inspection only to find that the suspects had already fled from the scene.

A glass shutter in one of the compartments had been damaged but none of the passengers had been hurt.

Police said the circumstances that led to the incident were yet to be established and the individuals responsible could not be identified.

Jaffna police are conducting further investigations.

Your comment is the only thing in this whole page that is trying to bring ethnic conflict into it. Just because it happened in Jaffna its a ethnic conflict? It does not matter from which ethnicity the citizens who did this are. They need to be punished according to the law.
