SriLankan Airlines issues warning on social media scams

Colombo, March 18 (Dialy Mirror) - SriLankan Airlines has issued an urgent warning to customers regarding a rise in social media scams circulating across platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and others.

According to the airline, these scams are often shared through both familiar and unknown contacts and promote fake offers that misuse the SriLankan Airlines name, logo, and branding to appear legitimate.

Customers are strongly advised to remain vigilant and verify the authenticity of any promotional offers. Legitimate deals will always be available through the airline’s official website or its verified social media accounts.

SriLankan Airlines also warned that scammers frequently use deceptive tactics, including: fake links with unusual spellings or characters, impersonation through fraudulent social media profiles.
