The Sri Lankan cricket team will play three Test matches in England in 2024, according to the sources in the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) and was also confirmed by one of the top SLC (Sri Lanka Cricket) officials.
"Yes, we are committed to honour the schedule given by the ECB and accordingly will play three Test matches under the banner of the ICC's World Test Championship", the official said.
The ECB is scheduled to host the three Test matches respectively at Old Trafford, Lord's and Oval on August 21-25, Aug. 29-Sept.2 and Sept. 6-10.
During the next season, the ECB will also play three more Test matches (against West India) in July.
Apart from the red ball matches, the ECB will play seven T-20Is (four against Pakistan and three against Australia) and also five ODIs versus Australia.
Interestingly, Australia's two white ball bilateral series (ODIs, and T-20Is immediately after Sri Lanka's tour of England. (Bipin Dani)

We have only 2 spinners who could not win us over against Pakistan in spinning conditions. What impact can they make in England during August. Can play only 01 spinner not both coz 3 seamers are a must in England. Just see how vishwa is getting hammered playing for Durham. Asitha Is bowling well. But who are the other proper fast bowlers we have to take wickets? Who are the so called spinners who would bowl us to victory ? England are at their peak of batting prowess nowadays with baseball.

SLC shall start 3 test series with other championship member countries, too, like before Covid - 19. Before that tour, in June and July, 2023, a 4 day super tournament, shall be held with reserve days and do the selection for the tour, accordingly. It must consist of the top four club teams, rest XI and SL under 19, as before.

Ideally SL A team should visit England to play against Lions on 4day unofficial tests in May in early summer conditions. This would enable the test team to finalize a proper squad to avoid 3day bashing by England batting only 01 inning scoring over 500 at 6 runs per over. It would prevent a mockery of a beating in my opinion if we could unearth a few good bowlers and solid batsman ettung acclimatized to english conditions early.
