Sri Lanka on the brink of climate whiplash: Sajith

Colombo, June 12 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka is on the brink of a climate whiplash as it will be hit by extreme El Nino conditions soon, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa told Parliament today. 

He said Sri Lanka is to face a dry spell by the end of the year which will be coupled by livelihood crisis and food insecurity. 

Premadasa said this information has been revealed at a recent meeting of the Parliamentary Caucus on Climate Change of which he is the joint chairman.
