Nishan Madushka and Sadeera played poorly against Afganistan by applying poor techniques. If they fail in the first test, they must be dropped as they scored against Ireland only. Players in form must be selected to win but to lose.

Though Bangladesh gained test status only in yeear 2000 long after Sri Lanka in 1983 it no longer considers Sri Lanka as a formidable cricket playing nation anymore and even mocks at their players after the Mathews saga which has created a fierce rivalry between the two teams.

It is great to see a fundamental shift in the high performance of players in three different formats. All of a sudden people, cricket fans in Sri Lanka has demonstrated interest in watching the matches. Selection committee under veteran Upul Tharanga is exceptional in their philosophy.

I am surprised Pathum Nissanka and Janith Liyanage aren't considered. Liyanage, by far, is the most correct batsman SL has produced in years and his performances thus far in ODIs - 3 fiftys and an unbeaten century in 6 games sums up his credentials. I am sure he is capable in 5 day cricket just as well. Nissanka's record speaks for itself.
