Sri Lanka likely to urge for international help

Colombo Nov. 28 (Daily Mirror)- The government has called for an urgent meeting headed by Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya this evening and will discuss whether an international appeal should be made for assistance as thousands remain severely affected from the cyclonic storm.

The Daily Mirror learns that while the President will not declare a state of emergency, a decision will be made to make an international appeal for assistance.

No sustainable plans they had for past 75 years because it's easy to beg. We must ask for international help to secure a sustainable plan once and for all. Not blaming this Hela Government as this is the mess they took onboard to fix.

Not likely Sri Lanka must seek all help and support from international community to rebuild this country from this historic tragedy: No time in our memory we have seen such a disaster: Our lost will run in billions and billions when this tragedy is over Please do not delay and ask all partners and friendly countries and international organisations to help us at this historic disaster time It is not shame to do this and people are suffering

If the looted billions can be given up, that would be enough to repair and compensate the destruction twice over and a bit.

Please ask for international help. Assistance is paramount at this stage.The houses, roads, railways have to be built. People need to be fed. The NPP will not squander such help. The country learnt a bitter lesson from Sunami funds. Where did such funds end? In whose pockets?
