Special traffic plan in Colombo during England cricket team’s Sri Lanka tour



Colombo, Jan. 16 (Daily Mirror) - Police have implemented a special traffic plan in Colombo in view of the England cricket team’s tour of Sri Lanka.

The tour includes three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), with the ODI matches scheduled to be played at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium on January 22, 24, and 27.

According to the Colombo Traffic Division, motorists and the general public are advised to use alternative routes from 12.00 noon until the conclusion of matches on the above dates to minimize traffic congestion in and around the stadium.

Police said that no roads will be closed or restricted, and normal traffic movement will be permitted. However, traffic congestion is expected on the Pradeepa Mawatha, Saddharma Mawatha, Jayantha Weerasekara Mawatha, Temple Road (Khettarama Mawatha),100 Feet Road, Bodhiraja Mawatha, Vincent Perera Mawatha and Dr. Britto Babapulle Place.
