Speaker asks President to summon Parliament immediately

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana has requested President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to summon Parliament as soon as possible to discuss the current situation, Parliament sources said today.

Serjeant- at Arms Narenda Fernando told Daily Mirror that there are provisions for the Speaker to summon the House just to discuss the present crisis only.

It was reported that the House will be resolved today or any day this week. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)
