Soldier falls to death at Moragahakanda Reservoir

A corporal attached to the Kiralagolla army base deployed for security at the Moragahakanda reservoir died after falling from the reservoir in Naula.

Police said investigations revealed that one of the 10 soldiers of  Kiralagolla Army Camp in Dambulla, which was deployed for security at the reservoir dam and power plant of the Moragahakanda Reservoir, had gone missing.

Later, the body of the missing soldier was found 300 metres below the embankment of the reservoir.

The deceased was identified as a resident of Elpitiya.

The Naula police are conducting further investigations.
