Shiranthi Rajapaksa leaves FCID after four-hour statement

Colombo, Feb. 3 (Daily Mirror) - Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, left the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) today after recording a statement for nearly four hours regarding alleged financial irregularities linked to the Siriliya funds.

She had arrived at the FCID this morning following a summons to appear on 27 January 2026.

However, through her legal counsel, she had earlier informed authorities that she was unable to attend on the original date and requested a two-week extension.
