Shasheendra Rajapaksa admitted to Prison hospital

Former State Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa, who is being held in remand custody, has been admitted to the Prison Hospital, the Prisons Department said.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanka S. Bodaragama on August 29 ordered that Rajapaksa be further remanded until September 12, while also refusing a bail application filed on his behalf.

He should be examined by a independent medical board and treatment given based on their recommendations. No political pressure in anyway to obtain preferential treatment, but all reasonable care should be taken like any other person in remand. If hospitalisation is requested by independent doctors without political affiliation, it should be granted and not otherwise. He should be treated like any other remand prisoner.

It should be a ward in the Prison Hospital that run by the general hospital medical staff in the future when the most of the inquires completed many of such suspects will be arresting and send to jail for some time until those suspects be charged and sentenced . Most of them may tend to follow the precedent set by RW to get bail out early before completion of the investigation by getting in to the General hospital Acute /Emergency .

ALL rich and powerful people endup in Prison hospital or ICU although they are in perfect health before and after going to prison. BIG MONEY seems to have started passing hands !! Even the very ill poor prisnors still stay in the normal prison.
