Senior DIG seeks court order to prevent arrest over Easter Sunday probe

Colombo, June 10 (Daily Mirror) - Senior Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Waruna Jayasundara has filed a writ application before the Court of Appeal seeking an order preventing his arrest without probable cause in connection with the ongoing investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.

The application was filed naming the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Attorney General and several other officials as respondents.

In his petition, Senior DIG Jayasundara has requested the Court of Appeal to issue appropriate relief to prevent any attempt to arrest or detain him in relation to the investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks.
