Schools reopen from Monday; three days per week: Ministry
All schools and government approved private schools will reopen from Monday (25) and to continue with schools' academic activities for three days in a week, the Education Ministry said.
Earlier, the Ministry decided to extend the school holidays until tomorrow (24) considering the current fuel crisis, transportation difficulties.
The decision has been taken following a discussion held on July 19 at the ministry with the participation of the additional secretaries, including the Ministry Secretary, National Institute of Education (NIE) Director General, directors and provincial directors of education through online.
Accordingly, schools will function on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30 am to 1.30 pm while online teaching will fuction on Wednesdays and Fridays. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
