School boy on train foot board crashes onto signal post

A 15-year-old School boy travelling on the foot board of a train was killed yesterday when he crashed into a wayside signal post, police said.

They said the incident occurred in Thudugala in the Grandpass police area. The train was travelling from Colombo to Veyangoda.

The victim was died on admission to the Colombo National Hospital.

The victim was identified as Isuru Rashmika Adhikari and he was a grade 10 student at Ananda College, Colombo.

Grandpass police are conducting investigations.

    Unimaginable, but being a product of an A grade Colombo school, one can just imagine how these bots behave traveling in trains. He probably had a couple or more of his pals who must have been playing truant in the train. Poor young soul, may he rest in peace.

    its not the discipline factor of the boy here ..What safety measures does the SrIlankan Railway offers to their commuters for safe traveling and other passengers not traumatised with having to witness such sad happenings ..Automatic controlled doors or even manual lock control doors of the past ?
