Colombo, Feb. 27 (Daily Mirror) - Salam Ramadan kicked off this evening at Green Path, Colombo, celebrating unity, compassion and shared heritage.
The three-day event, which will close on 1 March, will be held daily from 5.00 p.m. to midnight.
As many as 125 stalls offering a wide variety of products and services are featured at the event, including specialised stalls offering traditional Muslim food items and arts such as henna and calligraphy.
There is also an interesting line-up of cultural events, including an Islamic choir, the singing of traditional Islamic devotional songs, dramas and other performances by schoolchildren, who have come up with an engaging repertoire to keep the crowds entertained.
Although primarily a Muslim spiritual and cultural event, Salam Ramadan drew crowds from all faiths and all walks of life.
