STF nab two men with Rs.8.2mn cash earned through Undiyal system

The Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested two persons at Dam Street, Keselwatta in Colombo 12 while in possession of Rs. 8.2 million suspected to have been earned through the Undiyal money transfer system.

The suspects were arrested following intelligence information recieved by the Sri Lanka Navy.

Police said the 39-year old main suspect from Wattala and a 62-year old man from Wellampitiya were handed over to the Keselwatta Police for further investigations.(DSB)

This is how this government is trying to stop money coming to this country..Now people stop sending money ...this money is coming mainly from house maids in the middle Eastern ..now people who work illegally in the Middle East and other countries find it hard to send their money..What they will do now ...they used it over there or stop sending it .I don't know this arrest make any sense to stop other doing this ..this is show off...How many people they can arrest.. first they must arrest all our politicians who do this ..

Many Lankans overseas need their money out of Sri Lanka. Undiyal system is the first thing that comes to mind to be able to get their money into their hands to survive. I personally will not use it or condone it. But some people don't mind taking the risk. If SL can make it easier to take money out legally then you will not have this problem that puts people at risk of being defrauded and criminals will not be able to thrive.
