SJB ready to support Interim Govt. based on proposals made by BASL
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya and Samagi Jana Sandanaya (SJB) have drawn attention to the series of proposals put forward by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) to resolve the current serious national crisis in the country and had decided to support an interim government based on the proposals made by Bar Association of Sri Lanka.
"We state that the course of action proposed by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka for abolition of the executive presidency to remove the current President from his office is considered as aready key requirement to resolve the existing national crisis. Accordingly, based on the series of proposals put forward by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka to provide immediate solutions to the burning issues of the people and to stabilize the economy, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and Samagi Jana Sandanaya have decided to extend support to a national program to resolve this crisis," a special statement from the party said.(Yohan Perera)
