SJB protesters tear gassed

The Police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the Samaji Jana Balawegaya(SJB) protesters at the Technical Junction in Maradana a short while ago.

Earlier, the police had obtained a court order from the Fort Magistrate preventing the SJB protesters from engaging in the protest demonstrations citing inconvenience caused to pedestrian and vehicular movements.

However, the SJB said they would hold the protest despite the court order. (DSB)
