SJB accepts President’s invitation for discussion on political reforms

Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa in a letter addressed to President Ranil Wickremesinghe had informed that his party the Samagi Jana Balawegaya ( SJB) has accepted the invitation extended by the latter for a discussion on political reforms

."This in reply to your letter dated July 29, 2022. It is essential to end the present crisis faced by the nation as soon as possible. Therefore, we have decided to accept your invitation for a dialogue on reintroducing 19th Amendment to the constitution and on reintroduction of sectoral oversight committees," Mr. Premadasa said in his letter to the President

. Informed sources said the meeting between the President and SJB will take place on Friday. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)

Falls short of the peoples' cry for all parties to come together and work in unison for the country's sake at this very difficulty time. Many believe there are some talented persons within the party who have the requisite skill and capability to to help navigate through the current crisis. It is time for them to step up to the situation. Very disappointing their leader is far too risk averse and has passed some opportunities to take on greater responsibility. He seems to have a great fear of failure, certainly not a good trait for a genuine capable leader.

RW is known for corruption nepotism and cronyism can’t be given credibility by anybody. Any reforms agenda need be accompanied by addressing those social ills ,otherwise all those reforms are killed in the very conception in and itself with very high economic social and political cost which may affect lives many generations.

Don't talk about "ALL-Party" bullshit. The SLPP,UNP,SLFP, SJB and several other single-member parties are simply factions of one single party, just putting up a show to fool the people. Did anybody see the tea party after Ranil's speech yesterday. The best evidence for "Ung okkoma yaaluwo malli." The only trustworthy group is the JVP/NPP. If anyone is serious about changing and cleaning up SL politics, elect the JVP/NPP to power.
