Pacha government came to power promising lower prices for rice and avoiding windfall profits by few rice businesses but the opposite has happened. They are allowing these ultra luxury cars and helicopters using had earned dollars by the country. Utter waste of foreign currency. How are we going to pay back loans if foreign reserves are wasted for totally unnecessary stuff like this.

The price you pay when you have a monopoly and the governments believe in self sufficiency and lefties economics You open the market to cheap imports where the farmers and supplier are sufficient people will benifit however this will benifit two or three families in Sri Lanka Wake up Sri Lanka This is basic economics

The competition amongst the rice mill owners for supremacy have taken off ground. They are now showing their purchasing power or in other words how rich they are. The super luxury vehicles will be garaged all the time and they are unlikely to travel in them

Believe me by having a genuine business you can't make this kind of money. Through unscrupulous activities, ripping off customers, Paddy farmers, evading income taxes etc,. If you make money genuine way you won't spend on a billion rupees car rather invest in Something that enhances the entrepreneurship. This money easy come easy Go. IRD over to you.

As long as he settles all taxes etc regarding all regulations and does not have anything due or anything crooked, he has the right to even own a rocket. That hard and smart work of him. Luckily this is not in term his brother was Prez. Else there would have been quite a lot of eye browse questioning if it was family bandism.

No one objects you having luxuries but it should be self sustained The amount of foreign currency spent on a single vehicle which had not been earned as assumed, secondly the fuel needed for this gazz guzzler All you need a comfortable vehicle to take you from A to B. If you have world wide businesses sure a private place be acceptable or for tourism. The money what earned is in business done in sri lanka being assumed so in rupees To convert that amount of rupees to foreign currency to buy this vehicle is unacceptable Had you earned and continue to earn foreign currency for the country you could be excused for the import of the luxuary vehicle fuel maintenance as that person is bringing foreign currency all along to the greater benefit of the country
