Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Deputy National Organiser Ranjith Aluwihare has resigned from his post. Aluwihare told the media that he had resigned from the post.

This is the end result for teaming up with the UNP, SLPP and the Sarvajana party to discredit the Gov in all the positive steps they are taking to pull this nation out of its cancerous past. SJB, UNP, Saravajana (whatever party) work for a corrupt set of businessman and friends. Their shady past speaks for itself. Whereas the NPP is truly working for its people. This appalling lack of opportunity for ex-politicos, former hangers-on and the like is just one of the terrible things the NPP has done to a marginalised section of Sri Lankan society. Current government policy is forcing these poor people to resign their current affiliations in the hope of finding opportunity elsewhere. Previously, they could find opportunity for self-improvement regardless of their political stripe. Let us return to those good old days of "Opportunity for (almost) All"
