Incarcerated former MP Ranjan Ramanayake is reported to have signed the letter which is to be sent to the President seeking presidential pardon.

Several factions had requested President Ranil Wickremesinghe to grant presidential pardon to Ranjan Ramanayake.

Dear Ranjan, the Supreme court insult you did was not deserving of the punishment. While Wimal and quite a few nasty mouthed MPs piled the hate on your, there are some decently minded MPs who probably know you spoke the truth. I hope the parliament does not allow the courts to squash freedom of expression like what the courts did to Ranjan.
