Ranjan requests Ranil to follow Lee Kuan Yew

Former Parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake made an open request to President Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday to follow in the footsteps of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, claiming that he will be etched in the country's history.

Addressing the media, he requested the president to do the same as Lee Kuan Yew had done to the underworld teams that supported him.

"President Ranil Wickremesinghe was brought to power by a group of thieves that destroyed Sri Lanka through various corruptions. As a result of the acts by the thieving groups, I got the presidential pardon," he said.

The thieves' group had brought Ranil Wickremesinghe as a bodyguard for their safety, he said.

If he has the virtues, he can't just forget them, and it is a hard situation faced by him.

"Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew was elected with the support of two mafia underworld groups named Red Dragon and Black Dragon. After he came to power, the mafia group leaders that supported him were executed. It is suspicious that President Ranil Wickremesinghe will do the same," he said. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)

Our dastardly pin president came very close to it. Though it was not the thieves who brought him to power he targeted, It was the young guys who were raising concerns about the tragic fate that was to befall our motherland. Besides, these two leaders are poles apart. One had a great vision for his country and a strategy and a grim determination to succeed in his efforts. What does the other have. Exactly nothing but a loud mouth uttering absolute nonsense.

What did I just read? What's he saying? People like Ranjan are good for talking the talk. I see videos on YouTube of Ranjan behaving in a vulgar way with women known as models and actresses in Sri Lanka. This is a shame and unacceptable for someone who is posing as a righteous and uncorrupt politician or activist. If Ranjan can shed that side of him he can definitely go far in his political career. The general public seem to like him. But voters want to have people of sterling character and self-control in power. It's rare to find these traits among SL politicians.

If Lee Kuan Lew’s principals are followed to the dot ,there is no hesitation that Sri Lanka will prosper.But the issue of execution of the corrupt, elimination of the underworld,treating all communities and provinces equally is very doubtful as the majority race is very unpredictable. God bless our younger generation

PM Ranil Wickramasinghe is no Lee Kwan Yew the former Prime Minister of Singapore. As a very senior politician of the UNP with over 40 years of experience he abandoned his own party to join with the Rajapaksa's to help the family get out of jail for their past misdeeds and was never elected by the people as Prime Miniter and has done nothng good for the people of the country. As such it is an utter insult to be compared to the great statesman Lee Kwan Yew of Singapore who built his country from scratch.

You can’t compare Sri Lanka with Singapore, Singapore was created from nothing by the British by bringing in the labourers from China and India, and educated office workers and professionals from Jaffna. After the British left the Chinese became dominant because of their large population and the Jaffna Tamils lost their power enjoyed under the British. Singapore neither had the history nor the culture and this made the newly elected Chinese leader Lee Kuwanyu to do whatever he felt important for the country and for his own protection. He liquidated all his potential enemies and opened the country to the Western Multinationals giving them total freedom to operate as they liked. And he gave total loyalty to the West and in effect Singapore became a unofficial colony of both Britain and America. There is no proper democracy and the country is being ruled by the same family since independence.

During 70-80’ after Mr.Lee visited SL, he gave a comment that he was willing to change Singapore like SriLanka and made it more better than that. But unfortunately SL and fallen down due to politics mis-management since recent decades.

A new party with a new vision is imperative to our country. Politicians use, race, religion, caste, language etc; to divide the people. Make English the official language, in 15 years time, Sri Lanka could regain it's glory again.
