QR code fuel issuance system to continue; no change to quota

Colombo, July 6 (Daily Mirror) - The QR code-based fuel issuance system will continue without interruption, as the government has not taken any decision to discontinue the programme, Managing Director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), Mayura Neththikumara, said.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Neththikumara assured that the country will continue to receive an uninterrupted fuel supply in the future, easing concerns over any possible changes to the existing distribution system.

He also confirmed that no decision has been taken to either increase or reduce the current fuel quota allocations, indicating that the existing quota limits will remain in place until further notice.

The assurance comes amid public speculation over the future of the QR code fuel distribution system, which was introduced to ensure an orderly and equitable supply of fuel during the country's fuel crisis.
