Public urged not to join queues after 10 p.m. to worship sacred Devnimori relics

Colombo, Feb. 10 (Daily Mirror) - The Chief Incumbent of the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple, Dr. Kirinde Assaji Thero, has urged the public to avoid joining queues after 10.00 p.m. today (10) to worship the Sacred Devnimori relics of Lord Buddha enshrined at the temple.

Addressing the media, Dr. Assaji Thero said the exposition of the Sacred Devnimori relics will conclude at 6.00 a.m. tomorrow (11), after which the relics will be returned to India.

He noted that devotees will be given the opportunity to worship the Sacred Devnimori relics continuously for 24 hours today, up to the conclusion of the exposition at the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Viharaya.

Dr. Assaji Thero further stated that a special delegation, including the Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Mangubhai Patel, and the Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chauna Mein, arrived in Sri Lanka via the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake, yesterday (09) to accompany the Sacred Devnimori relics back to India.
