What's hell going on on the parliament? It's a waste of tax payers money. There are so many things have happened after after NPP voted to power. Looks like after completing almost two months, we have not seen positive steps taken by them for issues faced by the farmers, rice shortage, arresting high COL etc. Instead of finding measures to solve these problems, wasting time with debates in parliament like the previous govt, it is unfair for them to ignore the sufferings of the ppl. Wake up and handle the handle the pressing issue without delay.

Clearly the perks given for ministers and deputies are way above previous regimes. I think wijepala got it all wrong at first place as this is not abour mps expenditure but about ministries. Wijepala without much political experience may become a joker after the debate. The sad thing is with the way these npp rogues work, most likely namal may rise again similar to yahapalanaya failure.

There have been government changes before. In 1977 a new government with a totally different economic policy came in to power. In the 1st 100 days they initiated the huge Mahaweli Project, model housing schemes, liberalised import/exports and the Colombo Port development and so on. In short an economic miracle. Long queues and severe shortages were gone. Major irrigation works enabled self sufficiency in foods. In 1994 power changed hands and they also did a fair bit of serious work in spite of the civil war. In 2005 a new leadership took over, ended the war, built highways, carpeted roads, built rail extensions, Colombo city beautification, modern development including electrification in every corner of the country. Now the current government that took over a country with all major problems solved but what do we discuss today? Merits and demerits of coconut sambol and kiri hodi! Parliament canteen menu and what MPs eat! That has become the national discourse!

Public have no idea what were the corresponding expenses under the previous Government. The Government should release them prior to making new circulars like this. It will help us to understand the difference and comment accordingly. The NPP Government is very poor in its communication to general public,above is just one example only. D V Chanaka, his duty is to lick Rajapakse back. This is one of the guys who is defending the tax payers burden in maintaining Rsjapakse mansion. What a mentality?
