Colombo, March 25 (Daily Mirror) - A group of students attached to the Kelaniya University is currently protesting in front of the university administrative building over the death of a student due to a sudden illness, a student union said.
They said a total of 150 students gathered in front of the university administrative building this morning.
They claimed that a fourth-year student at the university passed away last night (24) after being hospitalized due to a sudden illness.
The university students allege that the delayed hospitalization of the student in question was a result of the absence of ambulance facilities or other vehicles on the university premises to transport the affected student to the hospital.

Sad to see protestors who think they are real heros who are doing a great service to this nation! Finally they will end up voting some sweet talking nitwits into power and then we all suffer. Rata wiruwo of 2019 are yet the same duds but they have changed their horse for the next election. Uni youth also the same.

Very Sad story. Ambulanse?... Or what's happened to the close brother hood? Couldn't they found a three wheeler to take their friend to the hospital?? It is clear visibility of inpracticality within youths mind.

Ambulances are located in police stations and dispatched when they get a call. If you'll want 1st world facilities in a 3rd world country, then get your free education and give back to the university as alumni instead of wasting time protesting. Do something practical and realsitic to make a change.

Well said,, their mentality has been 'this is not our government, why should we work? " , once they get into power their mentality will be ' this is our government why should we work, others should work" . Handing over the country to these goons will be a terrible mistake.

Wow! You prople expect a package of comfort offer? Despite we pay TAX money for your education? Hat else you people want? A free massage parlour in the premises? Should have stopped a tuk tuk and taken the ill student to the hospital. Didn't want to pay the tuk tuk fair?

Disgraceful ! The union or any person could have easily called 1990 emergency service. This is another politically motivated protest.
