Probe launched into inappropriate content in Grade 6 English module

An investigation has been initiated following the discovery of an inappropriate term referenced in the introduction of a Grade 6 English module, Education Ministey Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa,said.

According to officials, a complaint was received alleging that the introduction of the Grade 6 English module, which had already been printed and completed, contained a reference to an inappropriate website. 

An internal review was conducted, confirming the accuracy of the complaint.

As a result, the distribution of the module has been immediately suspended, and a formal investigation has been launched with immediate effect. 

Authorities also expect to lodge a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) tomorrow to facilitate further inquiries.
