Probe launch after Sri Lankan leopard found dead in Norton Bridge
Police launched an investigation after the body of a Sri Lankan leopard (Panthera pardus) was found killed in a tea estate in Norton Bridge.
Police said the leopard had injuries in two areas on its back and a puncture wound near the front right leg.
Officer from the Nallathanniya Wildlife office have estimated the leopard is believed to be around 6 years of age, and is a species native to Sri Lanka.
The body of the leopard was taken to the Rantambe Wildlife Veterinary Office for the post-mortem.
