Finance State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said yesterday in parliament that priority will be given to motorcycles, public transport vehicles and industrial vehicles when relaxing import restrictions in future.

While addressing Parliament yesterday, he said that the tax revenue lost to the government due to the suspension of vehicle imports between 2020 and 2023 is Rs. 620 billion.

He is a cunning fellow after benefits of politics, just like the no-good Namal of the Jarama paksa clan. Do not allow reconditioned or used cars. Only allow brand new imports by registered agents. Shiploads cannot come to SL in few days flooding the market and drain on USD. Brand new vehicles take a few months on order.
