President urges electric vehicle users to charge their vehicles during daytime

Colombo, March 18 (Daily Mirror) - President Anura Kumara Dissanayake yesterday urged electric vehicle users to charge their vehicles during daytime in a move to save electricity.

The President said the demand for electricity has gone up by 300 MW after 6 pm than before.

He said electric vehicle users charge their vehicles after 6 pm after returning home from work and that to meet the high demand, all power stations have to be operated.

"We have an electricity surplus duing daytime. So, we urge EV users to charge their vehicles during the daytime," he said.
