Colombo, February 14 (Daily Mirror) - President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will attend the India–AI Impact Summit 2026, which will be hosted by the Government of India in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, 2026.
The Summit, convened at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is anchored on three core pillars — People, Planet and Progress — which define India’s approach to international cooperation on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The event will bring together global leaders, policymakers, innovators and experts to deliberate on the future direction of AI and its role in shaping sustainable and inclusive growth.
President Dissanayake is among 20 world leaders scheduled to attend the high-level gathering. Other leaders expected at the Summit include Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay of Bhutan; President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil; President Emmanuel Macron of France; President Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia; President Peter Pellegrini of Slovakia; President Guy Parmelin of Switzerland; Prime Minister Dick Schoof of Netherlands; and Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates, among others.
Ministerial delegations from over 45 countries are also expected to participate. The United Nations Secretary-General and senior officials from several international organizations will join the deliberations.
The Summit is expected to focus on global governance frameworks for AI, responsible innovation, and leveraging emerging technologies to advance sustainable development worldwide.
