Responding to the remark made by President Ranil Wickremesinghe that the local government election has not been legally declared, Leader Of Opposition Sajith Premadasa today questioned as to why the UNP had submitted nominations if there were no polls.

"We question why the party which is led by the President has submitted nominations if the polls are not declared legally. It is clear that President Wickremesinghe is the master brain behind the postponement of the local government election. President talks as if he has gone insane, “Premadasa said.

"There is a conspiracy to roll the electoral map and bring about a Hitler-type dictatorship. We will launch a revolution to prevent this move, “he added. (Yohan Perera)

The most insane person is Sajith. Everyone knows except Damitha Abeyrathne.

He is insane. There is no doubt about it. Need to be sent to psychiatric.

Devaka - Sajit did not accept the job as he refused to the conditions like taking action against Rajapakses while Ranil is just doing whatever they asked to take the Presidency.

No chance for revolution with weak minded public Friday, 24 February 2023 05:05 PM

Revolutions will have to be are totally violent here. Even the Maha Sanga are with the President and Parliament, as well as the BASL and Supreme Court, all will have to be overturned. Not much chance with the weak minded public here.

If, as an outsider, but a friend and connoisseur of Sri Lanka, one observes and analyzes the domestic politics of this country, then one actually gets the impression that the majority of politicians in this country, including the relevant opposition politicians, are "crazy" and only pursue their own interests in power! If, after years of wrong politics and corruption, a country is brought into such economic misery and the people experience massive suffering, then one should actually expect the political elite to overcome their differences in the interest and for the good of the people, to stand together and work out viable solutions for the people in the national interest! None of that really happens in SL and you block and defame each other! The Sri Lankan people will have to suffer for a long time as long as the politicians keep fighting each other like this!

Both Sajith and AKD were offered the post of Prime Minister. They both declined. If they thought they could have done a better job they should have accepted. And again, when the parliament was going to select the president Sajith could have contested if he thought he could have done a better job. Both AKD and Sajith are now whining and complaining because they didn't get to be president.

    Thats you bro!

    Ranjith Friday, 24 February 2023 09:49 PM

Sajith you are on the correct path and you have a good team to work, JRJ became the head of state when he was 72 years old, keep the good work and move forward, you made good decision not accepting the Prime minister post and to protect the Rajapakses.

A simple explanation for filing nominations. As a precaution. In case the Court directs that the elections be held.

Even after 75 years of independence it is proved beyond any doubt what the British said Sinhalaya Modaya when they handed over the country on a platter and left. Nothing has changed and will always remain the same in Sri Lanka forever.

Good opportunities were missed by you, Ranil zero support of the public became the President and now he acts like SriLanka Hitler, don't allow him to continue - fight back for the elections sending missiles from all corners.

It is a good decision that Sajith made then not to accept Gota' invitation to accept the PM's post. If by some misfortune, Sajith had accepted and become the PM, Sajith too would have had to flee the country with Gota on 09th July 2022.
