President holds high-level talks during AI impact 2026 summit visit



Colombo, Feb 18 (Daily Mirror) - At the special invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who is currently in New Delhi to participate in the AI Impact 2026 Summit, is scheduled to hold a series of high-level meetings from today (18) until the 20th, alongside his summit engagements.

A meeting between President Dissanayake and Sergio Gor, Special Representative for South and Central Asia to US President Donald Trump and the United States Ambassador to India, was held this morning (18). The discussions centred on matters of mutual interest and regional cooperation.

The President is also due to attend a special dinner reception hosted this evening (18) by Prime Minister Modi for heads of state who have arrived in New Delhi for the AI Impact 2026 Summit.

The summit, which aims to promote the responsible use of artificial intelligence for the benefit of humankind, is being held at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, with the participation of heads of state and leading figures from the global technology sector. President Dissanayake is scheduled to address the summit tomorrow (19).

In addition, he is expected to hold a special bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Modi and engage in discussions with several other world leaders attending the summit.
