Kampala, Jan 19 (Daily Mirror) - In a powerful address at the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Kampala, Uganda, President Ranil Wickremesinghe emphasized the critical need to bridge digital divides and tackle the looming threat of Weapons of Mass Destruction.
Under the theme "Deepening Cooperation for Shared Global Affluence," the President highlighted how these issues have further widened the gap between NAM developing states and the developed world, deepening global inequalities.
President Wickremesinghe urged the international community to recognize the urgency of addressing these challenges, emphasizing the pivotal role that a united NAM could play in fostering a more equitable world. He underscored the importance of collective efforts in mitigating the impacts of digital disparities and preventing the proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Celebrations and congratulations and demonstrations are a norm, if anyone take trip back the memory lane might if you are blessed to alive and remember the colonial past or any person who has learnt the history of our beloved nation. Ceylon ( was known by the colonial times) was once celebrated as the nation that was the most harmonious places in this beautiful blue planet that we exist. This time we’re celebrating our unity as multi ethnic, religion, cultural and most and full most the love for being an identity that was longing for freedom from our most cruel invaders that decimated our culture, history, heritage and most famously our identity! This man was on politics holding various positions for 40 years. What did he really accomplish? What is so powerful about his speech? WMD is an old story. The creation of the NAM has divided the countries of this world. All countries need each other and are dependent on each other for multiple reasons.

No unity as long as JVP/NPP creates disunity as it is done in universities and workplaces. Previous regime created friction among the Muslims and the majority. Now it is the JVP/NPP. RW has a vision which he never had the opportunity to put into practice. If he is not surrounded by unfaithful people who try to cloud his vision, he will be the best leader for Sri Lanka.

You first established lasting unity in Srilanka, law and order, justice, etc before global unity. Prices have skyrocketed, no Medicines, people are dying, children's are under nourished etc so look into problems in Srilanka and then talk on global unity .
