Police operations continue to nab drunk drivers

Officials of the Police Traffic Department have been deployed on major roads from Colombo even today to enforce the law against drivers under the influence of liquor, police spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said.

He said the police officers on duty on the roads may check vehicles and requested the people cooperate. 

"Do not try to cause any trouble with the police officers. If you do so, it will only delay your travel," he said.

The spokesman also requested people not to swim in pools or bathe in rivers or streams after consuming liquor and also to refrain from consuming liquor.
