Police on Valentine’s duty; Parents urged to be vigilant of minors’ whereabouts

The Police are on high alert for illegal activity such as organizing parties through Facebook targeting minors and youth on Valentine's Day, Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said.  

Although there is no prohibition on organizing and attending parties, Police will be on high alert, based on experiences of past years, he said.

He said police officers had been instructed to raid parties and events organized through social media platforms such as Facebook.

" There is no prohibition on attending the parties. But police will conduct raids on parties to see whether participants are using narcotics substances," the spokesman said. (DSB)
