Police launch helpline as adverse weather intensifies

Amid ongoing severe weather across Sri Lanka, the Police have introduced dedicated telephone numbers to provide the public with information and assistance related to disaster situations.

Police said a significant number of accidents and hardships have been reported due to landslides, floods, and strong winds affecting multiple areas.

Meanwhile, a Special Operations Room has been established at Police Headquarters under the supervision of Inspector General of Police (IGP) to ensure proper coordination and support relief efforts during the ongoing emergency.
