Police hunt 8 more suspects over MP Amarakeerthi Athukorala’s murder

The police yesterday released several photographs of eight suspects who are wanted over the slaying of former parliamentarian Amarakeerthi Athukorala and his security officer, with the view of seeking public assistance to apprehend them.

Police said around 35 suspects were arrested so far in connection with the incident.

Accordingly, the police have requested the public to inform them via contact numbers 011 251 4217 or 071 859 2868 if they have any information on the suspects.

The MP and a police sergeant attached to his security detail were lynched in a mob attack during the widespread unrest on May 9 this year.
