The Police curfew which was imposed in several police divisions in the Western Province with effect from 9 pm yesterday, had been lifted.

Accordingly, police curfew imposed in the Negombo, Kelaniya, Nugegoda, Mount Lavinia, Colombo North, Colombo South and Colombo Central police divisions was lifted at 8 am today, police said.

Mr. Gota, the best thing you can do now is to make a public announcement saying that you step down with immediate effect , call fir an election in 6 months forboth president and the Parliament, and to handover power to the temporary government elected from the present Parliament. If the rest of the guys kill each other to get positions in the government it is on their account. Mr Gota ,you did your service by winning the 30 year war but now if you hang on to that, you are creating a lot of distress to people. So please step down and enjoy your grand children. We know that you will have regrets for the rest of your life, at least you can write a memoir on "Why Gota Failed' with all honest stories. People celebrated with milk rice when you were elected but the same people will eat milk rice plus cake once you make this announcement.

BASL this high handed decision by the IGP when there's is no provision in the law to impose a curfew shows how the police is used by the Politicians This IGP should be taken into task. It shows The Police is not impartial in this country.

IGP you have now lifted the curfew and you ask your President to watch the TV so that he can see what is happening around President's House. Your security personnel cannot shoot the protesters as you do it north and east. We are now paying for the sins committed by your President and other Rajapakshas. If you try to misuse your powers, protesters will surround your house also. How many people you can kill. You are a coward like your President.
