Pitiduwe Siridhamma Thera apologises for distorting Tripitaka and Buddha’s character



Ven. Pitiduwe Siridhamma Thera was strongly advised by the Mahanayake and Karaka Maha Sangha Sabha of the Malwathu Chapter to avoid making sermons by distorting Tripitaka and the Buddha's character.  

Lekakadhikari Thera of the Malwatu Chapter Ven. Pahamune Sri Sumangala Thera told a news conference that Ven. Siridhamma Thera was summoned before the Karaka Maha Sangha Sabha of the Malwathu Chapter led by the Mahanayake Thera yesterday and strongly advised to stop the sermons distorting the Tripitaka and the Buddha's character.  

Ven. Pahamune Sri Sumangala Thera said Ven. Siridhamma Thera apologised to the Mahanayake and Karaka Maha Sangha Sabha of the Malwathu Chapter for the inconvenience caused to the Buddhists and assured not to make any sermons or Dhamma analysis outside the Mahavihara traditions.

The prelate said Ven. Siridhamma Thera also gave a written assurance in this regard. (Shane Seneviratne)
