Patali Champika to launch new political party

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Patali Champika Ranawaka, who later functioned as an independent member, is to form a new political party next month.

Accordingly, he has revealed that the new party, to be named the 'Eksath Janaraja Pakshaya' (United Republic Front), will be launched in May with the objective of reviving the nation from bankruptcy.

“We need to end political systems that are based on family inheritances. We also need to put an end to politics where public votes are bought over. Pragmatism is also essential to move the country forward, as opposed to the outdated socialist-capitalist ideology that is now followed. We are going to unveil this new political ideology in May. It will be called the United Republic Front”, the MP said regarding the new party.

Champika is a very intelligent and astute politician . He is oozing with overconfidence driven by his ever strengthening ego. He may always find it difficult to collect colleagues with likeminded attitudes and views. By the way, the party should read "United Republic Party" in English .
