Passengers asked to avoid bringing visitors to BIA

Airports and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited has issued an important notice for passengers arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport due to adverse weather conditions affecting several access roads.

Passengers are advised to use the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway to reach the airport safely, as flooding on other routes may cause delays.

To minimize congestion within the airport premises, authorities have also requested that passengers avoid bringing visitors to the terminal during this period.

The airport management urged the public to act safely and responsibly while traveling under the prevailing weather conditions.

Flights should be suspended until it is safe for staff and passengers to travel the roads. Everyone is under pressure to take risks because if they don't turn up for work and flights they will either lose their job or lose the ticket money.

Flights shoukd continue because the rain should not stop travel as many visitors are waiting to get out, thanks to previous regimes, the highways are still reachable. So access to the airport is not an issue.
