Parliament is to debate on the brain drain which is said to be taking place in Sri Lanka with the migration of professionals.
The decision to have a debate on the topic was made during the party leader’s meeting which was held with Speaker Mahindananda Aluthgmage at the chair.
The debate on brain drain is to take place on Friday, October 6, 2023.
Civil Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill (Second Reading), Elections (Special Provisions) Bill, Regulations under the Mediation (Special Categories of Disputes) Act ,and Order under the Judicature Act have been scheduled to be taken up for debate will be taken up on October 3.
Resolutions under the Customs Ordinance (Vide Gazette Extraordinary Nos. 2336/72, 2338/54 & 2341/64), Orders under the Special Commodity Levy Act (Vide Gazette Extraordinary Nos. 2332/14, 2332/53, 2337/16 & 2340/45) and National Eye Bank Trust of Sri Lanka Bill will be taken up for debate on October 4.
House will debate Sri Lanka Ports Authority (Amendment) Bill, Civil Aviation (Amendment) Bill, Regulations under the Civil Aviation Act, Regulations under the Licensing of Shipping Agents, Freight Forwarders, Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers and Container Operators Act on October 5. Sorry to say that there are many reasons for this issue . 1) poor salary 2) poor law enforcement 3) greedy 4)Future of their children. 5) political instability 6)/poor politics.. 7) good salary and the high quality of life abroad 8) unqualified political leaders 9) No hope in sri Lanka 10) Inflation and piece hike ( economic crisis)

When they are appointed to government positions place them on bonds to serve the country for a minimum period. If they violate the bond conditions government will receive the bond money

Start with restoring law and order and an impartial independent judiciary without any political allegiances. This means all wrong doers should be prosecuted and punished. The rest will fall in place. Independent free press should be a cornerstone of the plan.

Ruling politicians are the legislators who by their dim policies created this brain drain and now they have the audacity to debate why the professionals have migrated. The Public does not wish to comment on this matter since some of the ruling politicians have nothing between the ears only cow dung as it will be pouring water on ducks backs!!!!!!!!

A country that has not got a plan for the future will lose a lot of professionals. With a government run with no motives for the professionals to stay back will lose the best to the other countries who are getting our best. Education and their children's future and yes greed are some points to be noted.

Why any of the great 225 not leaving SL? Some people in politics left foreign countries to come to politics in SL - educated, qualified, professional people leave! A reason is that GoRa and BaRa (Kaputa) worked at 7-11 and Petrol stations and earned Billions of dollars! No commission for such events!
