Opposition wants increased representation in special select committees

Colombo, January 6 (Daily Mirror) - The Opposition today called on Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne to appoint an Opposition member as the chairman of the special committee which will be appointed to look into the negligence pertaining to the pre-warnings of Cyclone Ditwah. 

The Opposition also called for an increased representation in the said committee.

Chief Opposition Whip Gayantha Karunatilaka also requested the Speaker to increase the Opposition representation in the select committee appointed to look into the holding of Provincial Council elections.
