One lane of Badulla-Colombo road in Bathgoda reopened

COLOMBO (Daily Mirror) - Landslides triggered by heavy rainfall blocked a section of the Badulla-Colombo road in Bathgoda yesterday, causing traffic disruption in the area. 

The incident prompted authorities to close the road. However, after re-evaluating the area, officials agreed to reopen one lane of the route this morning.

A joint effort by the Divisional Secretariat, Divisional Council, Police, Road Development Authority, Sri Lanka Telecom, Electricity Board, and Timber Corporation has been mobilized to restore the traffic flow quickly.

The teams are working continuously to clear the debris that has accumulated on the road and make it safe for vehicles and commuters.
